Guest guest
Has anyone here failed the 1 hour GTT? I did and have to do the 3 hour tomorrow morning. Is it possible for us to fail due to our surgery and absorbtion of sugar? Just curious. Thanks for any advice.. Guest guest
Our bodies do not tolerate (or should not tolerate) the GGT/glucola testing. You should refuse it and ask for the 2 hour post prandial (or guidelines listed on this link on the home page of this group. Y You should print it out and take it to your OB explaining why you shouldn't take the test. If it doesn't make you deathly ill, I'm under the impression it is inaccurate in determining gestational diabetes in post WLS patients. (null and void and of no use to anyone since we've have WLS). http://lapbypass.com/pdf/GBP-Pregnancy.pdf I think it's the third page, last paragraph on the first column. I hope you have luck in refusing your second test tomorrow and your OB listens to your refusal. It seems many take the test when they shouldn't be taking it. Best wishes!
