Guest guest
, I second what Beth said, but have to reemphasize that you should NOT make any changes without speaking to a medical professional first. Just be prepared for Dr. H. to make you take him off Pediasure if you have not done so by then. The other thing I want to EMPHASIZE is that if Connor is waking up at any time, no matter how infrequently, with shaking, then he is hypoglycemic and you must put a stop to that. This means that you are going to have to wake him in the middle of the night and feed him something to get him through until the morning bottle at, what did you say....6:30??? You said that he is above age level for most things and you want to keep him that way. Hypoglycemia can lead to definite learning issues. I cannot stress the importance of this enough. Another thing you can try, if you really hate the idea of waking him up in the middle of the night, is to try adding cornstarch to the night bottle and see if that helps. But I know the high sugar content of the Pediasure is not good for his system in many ways and controlling blood sugar is one of them. I don't want to upset you, but you really have to pay a mind to this. He is too precious and important to let something that is simple to take care of affect the rest of his life. If only someone had told us about this for Max.... It was not a known factor when he was a baby and I shudder to think of all those nights and days he did not eat and was hypo-g. But I've moved on. Timing is everything. Jodi Z.
Guest guest
- mary one suggestion I forgot to write, since Connor is not eating much during his small but frequent meals, may be you can try giving her a longer interval between meals. Naomi eats every 3 hours. her regimen is 5 am 2-3 oz mix (pediasure+cereal+baby food + olive oil) 9 am 4-4.5 mix 12 am 4-4.5 mix 3 pm (sometimes later if she naps too log) 4-4.5 oz mix 6 pm 4-4.5 mix 10 pm 2-3 oz mix with water half hour before meals (she loves water, I wish she drank formula the way she drinks water) AS you can see, her food has very little variation other than what type of baby food goes in. -- In RSS-Support , " Jodi Zwain " wrote: > , > > I second what Beth said, but have to reemphasize that you should NOT > make any changes without speaking to a medical professional first. > Just be prepared for Dr. H. to make you take him off Pediasure if > you have not done so by then. > > The other thing I want to EMPHASIZE is that if Connor is waking up > at any time, no matter how infrequently, with shaking, then he is > hypoglycemic and you must put a stop to that.
