New ADHD medication delayed

The Food and Drug Administration has delayed approval of a new medication to

treat attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder. Intuniv is a non-stimulant,

once-a-day treatment for kids ages 6 to 17. The FDA wants additional

Study: Young kids taking antipsychotic meds

A Canadian study found child psychiatrists are prescribing antipsychotic

medication to children as young as three for attention-deficit/hyperactivity

disorder and anxiety. Most of these children are older than 13, but a

significant number are under 9. The medications have not been approved for
