I have a hernia in the very same spot and it is very annoying but mine does

not make noise. My OB said not to worry about it and if it bothered me that I

coukld get me a binder but it has not. ONe good thing for you is the baby has

pretty much grown to wear it will be and is now just getting fat and heavy,

he/she should not really have to fill you up more than it is now. Hopefully it

will be over soon for you. I know I can't wait to be done with this. it is #4

for me too and first since surgery but i am going to be 42 years old so am no

spring chicken, lol.

I guess this is for anyone who has knowledge of or who HAS one....I've got a

nice sized incisional hernia since surgery. It's above belly button and lays

mostly to the right of my incision which runs pretty much in the middle straight

down my belly.

The baby is now behind it (I'm 37 weeks) and I can push on the hernia and move

the fluid around. I know it's fluid that I'm taking in (such as drinking) but it

pools there for quite some time before moving it's way out. Today it seems to be

staying almost all the time. And he's behind it pushing it out really far..and

as I push on the hernia you can hear (VERY loudly I might add...as people around

me can CLEARLY hear it as well) the fluid slosh around in there.

I'm just worried that he's causing some pressure behind it and it's starting to

close the hernia off (pinch it). I know I've been told and heard that the larger

hernias are of less concern of blockage or blood vessel type pinching, but I'm

slightly worried that after another week or two of this I could be faced with

problems. As it is my intestines are not working (I can't poop much at all) as

they were before being pregnant. Before being pregnant I had a very irritable

system. Eat...run to poop! Have to poop? Can't hold it and must go NOW! Since

pregnancy....I'm lucky to get a little bit out every two or three days.

Anyway, I have NOONE here who knows ANYTHING about this surgery and have yet to

find anyone who acts as they know anything about the hernia in pregnancy.

Sydney,

I have a hernia too, but not as bad as yours, mine sticks out alot when I bear

down so I was really worried about it not going back in when I went into do have

Hannah and had to do alot of pushing. My OB said that if it became a problem we

could put a binder on to keep it in place so maybe this could be done for you?

I didn't have to do this because I ended up having a c-section so it didn't end

up being an issue. I hope things calm down for you soon!

Thanks !

I went in yesterday just to have a check of it and the OB was pretty sure all

would be fine. I have no idea at this point where I could find a binder to wear

during labor but as hard as I have to push to have bowel movements

(uggg...constipation is killing me) I'm sure it won't be too much worse giving

birth LOL. And it's so big I can't imagine it getting much worse. As it is I'm

SURE it won't be a laproscopic hernia fix. They'll have to open me right back up

over my scan from surgery. Which I figured. I do hope to TRY to get the tummy

tuck at same time but that will be that much more cutting and in a different

location.

Baby just gets his butt pushed up under the hernia at night and that's the only

time I seem to have any actual discomfort with it. The sloshing of liqued/air is

quite annoying but not really causing discomfort until I lay down and baby does

his work at night.

Glad to hear all went well for you too. I've never had a C-section but know that

you NEVER know what could happen when it comes to labor and delivery.
