Guest guest
Hi, Does FL have any school based programs that he can attend if he is I think 25 % delayed in any area. Our daughter Tori has been in the school program since she was 2 1/2. It's the public school system and is suppose to help with " catch up " learning until they reach Kindergarden. Maloy mom to Tori Re: MyKayla's first genetics appointment on Monday Liam's Endo never mentiond RSS...just SGA.. I am really starting to think he has RSS.. I see alot of the features, mild but he has them... (webbed toes, overlapped toes, incurved 5th fingers, Asymetricel, large forehead, small chin) and his endo has agreed that he has not caught up and he is 3 years 4 months, and 35 " tall, 0%.... He did say if SGA kids do not catch up by age 3 they do not catch up.. Liam has also had the feeding issues (still has those), Reflux, trouble gaining weight (not as bad now, but still not great)..... He was in OT for SID still has senory issues and some developmental delay's but our insurance does not cover OT.... and he does not quilify for EI andymore, cause in Florida you need to have other issues with in order to qulify..... Guest guest
We are from Florida too. After early intervention, the child is retested to see if they qualify for the school system's programs. Before 3 years old. She was evaluated by an OT and a SLP,and she qualified for both, and she's still getting both at 7 years old. If needed I can always fall back on the RSS label was told by the school psychologist ,and she would be considered health impaired or something, but with her delays she's doing just fine just being herself lol! We also have Florida kidcare which has been a total lifesaver. She gets additional therapies, including hippotherapy and other services through kidcare.
