GlacierWell I got it all printed out and cut out and after I finally printed all

the RIGHT pieces (rather than a couple accidental duplicates!) it all taped

together just perfect! It looks rather simple to sew, and easy to modify the

length on if necessary.

I had one question - did you find the gussett really necessary? I'm

afraid making the sack too baggy it'll wrap around his bar too much like a loose

blanket.

Oops, make that 2 questions: There is a little rectangle shaped piece marked J

& K - not sure where that fits in.

Otherwise, you did an excellent job on reproducing it!

The piece marked J, K is on the bottom corner. It fits with the piece marked K,

L that is funny shaped (has the little sliver going up off the rectangle) It

ended up this way because I couldn't fit it on the paper any other way. Those

two pieces just finish out the bottom length of the sack. As for the gusset. I

had a sack that I tried to put my son in, it had the bottom insert but no

gussets. His shoes fit in barely, if you pulled hard. So I added the gusset.

I don't find it being too loose, it is " roomy " . My little guy doesn't seem to

get mixed up in it, but he is only eight months and doesn't move much. I could

have just added extra width, I just thought the gusset would give a better shape

to the sack and the first time I altered the pattern I didn't really know how

much width to add-I just was flying by the seat of my pants. You could sew it

without the gusset-obviously don't cut the slit and you would probably have to

decrease the size of the bottom insert. If you didn't like that you could

unpick, cut the gusset line and do it the other way. Please let me know how it

turns out and how the fit is. Any other input would be great. If everyone has

a suggestion, then maybe we will get it right one of these day. Happy sewin

So you added the gusett, ok, that makes sense then. I'll start out with the

full pattern - he's nearly done with the sack for this winter but hopefully this

one will still fit him next winter when he's larger. I may make a summer sack

too.
