Guest guest
It does not matter what the label is, your daughter needs therapy. Please get her evaluated and be sure to give a thorough history and she will get what she needs. The sooner the better since she only has 7 months until she ages out of Early Intervention. Then you will be dealing with the schoold. EI will help you prepare for that. You need it as much as she does because it will immerse you in the process of getting help for her. Do not be shy, go with your gut and yell if nobody's listening. There are many potential causes for this but she is bright and " in there " and the more you do now the better the chances she will have at expressing herself. As an aside, there's a lot that has been written on reading aloyd to your kid and the benefits, particularly of the child hearing the mom read aloud. Take a look at the read aloud handbook by Jim Trelease. If anything, it will show you how much potential your daughter has as there are many inspiring stories including the girl with down syndrome reading above grade level. You can do this. There is so much hope! ruby_141204 wrote: >My daughter Ruby is 29months and is my 3rd daughter. Guest guest
--I would definately continue to pursue other medical professionals in her treatment: We have been to Immunologists, Gastroenterologists, ENT, Allergists (find a good one to do IGG as well as IGE tests), Physical therapists can give lots of good info indirectly, If you can get to a neurology/metabolic specialist at a big hospital they may pull tests for things such as carnitine, amino acids, and fatty acids, along with other work-ups (most is simple blood work-up and not too invasive), but most importantly find a great dev. pediatrician to help. Ask everyone you can at school andd therapy, many people want to help, but are only allowed to answer direct questions. I had a little boy that I met last year at my sons school start talking with NN complete and he had gone through a deluge of tests and his parents had given up on speech for him. They assumed the lack of speech was CP related and he had some cerebral trouble, he started talking in one month with just 1 NN complete daily. Please keep up your search, this website is fantastic with information!!!!!!!!! - In , " ruby_141204 " <alisonspencer@...> wrote: > > My daughter Ruby is 29months and is my 3rd daughter.
