Guest guest
, It sounds very much like we call a mito crash, which can be either caused by doing too much physically, or by the stress of illness. Both take extra energy to deal with, and if you do have mito, you are functioning at an energy deficit even without the added stress of extra physical stress or illness stress. If you do decide to start the mito cocktail, do it with a docs OK first off, and start one supplement at a time. That way you can more easily know if a particular supplement is causing problems for you. Another thing I STRONGLY advise is to ramp up dosage very very slowly. We usually start with about 1/4 of a dose for a week and up it a 1/4 each week. At the end of the month you will be up to the recommended dose. I would then start the second supplement at the same dosage ramping. It takes a while to get everything in, but I know several of us have found that it is the best way for our bodies to handle the introduction of new things. We don't metabolize things at the same rate as most people, so it only makes sense to go slow. Keep a log of what you are taking, how much and any positive or negative symptoms you see. That may seem overwhelming, especially with kids and a job, but it is better than not knowing when may be helping or causing problems and having to start over anyway. YMMV and I'm not a doc. I'm just telling you my families experience and what has been recommended to us. Van Verst wrote: >OK, I'm rather new to acknowledging that I have any >issues. I do have my doc's OK. He thinks it's silly but he says it is OK. Whiteman was our metabolic doc. The kids only have a metabolic disorder, NOS diagnosis. My son's positive response to the cocktail makes me pretty darn sure that it is mito. Guest guest
I can completely understand what you are talking about!! I have been doing this for years. Although they did find out I have Rheumatoid, I don't think that is the reason I am exhausted. When I had gestational diabetes was when I was the worst. I have found that if I stay away from sugars and not too many carbs (they turn into sugar if they are not burned off, and take a sublingual vitamin B12 (1-2 times a day) I am amazed at my energy compared to before and I don't have all of the body aches and pains also. Just thought I would tell you what worked for me. (I also get unexplained fevers, they say it is from having a connective tissue disease, RA) Patti Fever, but not sick > OK, I'm rather new to acknowledging that I have any > issues. Guest guest
We are all so different in what works and what doesn't. I tossed my thermometer out because my temp varies several points due to dysautonomia. You do need to treat this if it is an infection. Good luck, laurie > I can completely understand what you are talking about!! I have been doing > this for years. Guest guest
A C-reactive protein blood test (the replacement for an erythrocyte sedimentation test) might show if you have inflammation in your body of any sort. Has your doctor recommended that or other tests? Take care, RH > OK, I'm rather new to acknowledging that I have any > issues. It's been easier to cope with the ones in my > kids. Guest guest
, Since I started taking the Carnitor and Qgel a few years ago it has helped tremoudously. I do admit I am not very faithful about taking it every day, although I make my son take it everyday. Before I was on it all I would do is work and sleep. This is when I worked 15 minutes from home and also 30 minutes from home. I would come home from work by 5:30, play with my son who was a toddler, then turn him over to my husband and be in bed by 8:30 pm. I started the meds 5 years ago and since then have had alot more energy. Things have changed alot since my husband started a vending business and loosing customers so I support our family except for his disability pay. We moved to his shop last year and now I drive and hour each way to work. I am gone from 7 am until 6:30-7 pm. I am still very, very tired and light headed some days but now stay up till 11 pm most nights. I still have nights when I come home and go straight to bed and also some weekends our whole family sleeps till noon. But overall my son and I are doing alot better than before we were on the cocktail. He does not have stomach issues anymore either. Janet Sample Fever, but not sick OK, I'm rather new to acknowledging that I have any issues. It's been easier to cope with the ones in my kids. But tonight and yesterday I've had a fever. I'm not sick. My allergies aren't as bad as they usually are at this time of the year (ragweed just kills me) but I'm a bit stuffy. I've felt like jello and been dizzy (not spinning room, but light-headed) and felt like I was going to fall into a ball of mush. My head has been a little foggy. I've had a headache on and off (I get occular migraines). I started my son on the cocktail three weeks ago and am thinking about starting on them myself. I have wondered if I am feeling like this because of some sort of sympathy for my son. I guess I've wondered if I was going a little bit batty. But I do have a slight fever. I've never tolerated working full time. The only time I could do that was in my teens. Even in my 20's I worked as a teacher but could only work and sleep. I was exhausted all the time. I don't remember not feeling exhausted. I started feeling really bad when I started working full time about a year ago. I have to work. I'm the primary income in my family. So, does the cocktail help anybody with these kinds of issues? Mom to the two best kids in the world! http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/thomasandkatie __________________________________ Yahoo!
