Guest guest
Hello to All! Just wanted to say Happy Holidays to everyone. May the hope, joy, and love, of the season fill your hearts and homes. And to add to all of those that remember , and all his problems last year, that today we will be celebrating his second b-day (his b-day is actually tomorrow) here at home! YEAH!!!! He's doing really well this year, and will finally get to experience his first b-day and christmas at home with his family!!! We couldn't be happier. It certainly adds a " special " joy to the season for us! Happy Holidays to All! Guest guest
Hi pat its kim I would just like to add to teri's point about us adults being independant. I'm 25 and have lived on my own (with family support) for 8 years now and i drive an unadapted family hatchback car (i'm 4'3 " approx) I have some health problems (poss due to RSS) but have now accepted myself and feel i wouldn't be the same person today if i didn't have RSS. I'm outgoing (but do have depressive days) adn as a child was encouraged to try things for myself adnif i couldn't do something the conventional way i'd find my own solution( i,e reaching hich items, climbing with my friends, school issues) I hope this gives you a positive idea of life as an RSS adult and I look forward to emailing you soon Warmest Regards pcpets pcpets@...> wrote: Hello to All! Guest guest
Pat, What a difference a year makes! I always remember veteran RSS families saying, if you can just get through the first couple of years, it gets so much easier! Not a day goes by that I don't think about Jake having RSS, but it doesn't dominate our lives anymore. Yes, there are subtle hints ie. a feeding pump in his room, gh needles, medication twice a day, but it seems " normal " . has come so far and he has a loving family to thank for that.
