Guest guest
Hey Folks, As I was going over my list of questions to ask, and I remembered a few more. So once again, I will ask the collective wisdom of this group. 1. What do you do if you child doesn't have a significantly improved appetite on Periactin? I'm a tad confused. We've been on it since October but also started the Pediasure at the same time. Yes, we are on Pediasure and Connor usually consumes between 1.5 and 2 cans a day including 1/4 or 1/2 servings of pureed table food or crackers or shredded cheese or a calorie and nutrient dense pumpking bread a I make. And yes, I'm supposed to give him .5mls three times a day. He's only gained 1-3 oz's since convention. Mind you, every little thing will cause him to lose, such as teething, colds, etc. Any idea's out there? 2. I can't even find Peptimen Jr. in the Lynchburg area. Any suggestions on how to get this online? 3. Would it be overly aggressive of me to suggest to our Ped. GI Spec. to do a gastric emptying test on Connor? I mean, once in his life he took an 8 oz bottle. Only once. What's holding up the show so to speak in his stomach. 4. What do you do when you other children get tired of the attention or questions asked about your " special " child. My oldest boy, Graham, the other day stated, " Connor, Connor, Connor! Why is everybody looking at Connor! He is not a munchkin Mom! " Help! 5. When your toddler is slow to eat and the pre-school program only alots 10-15 min for snack time, what do you say or how do you accomodate your child and school? We haven't placed Connor in a pre- school setting yet, but this will be the first issue we have to deal with. 6. To the family in andria. We are in Lynchburg, VA. Dr. ph Wagstaff made the " tentative " RSS call. Dr. H. wasn't proof positive so we are coming back to convention in July. I think I met you actually at the pool party. I was sitting with the family from VA Beach. Jog your memory any? 7. Today I am starting the laborous process of applying for SSI for Connor to offset his many Dr. and specialist bills. Wish me luck! Merry Christmas to you all! - mother to Graham 6, Cameron 3, Connor, 15 mo; SGA/RSS? IUGR, Pepcid Sprinkles and Periactin.
Guest guest
, We were on Periactin but just stopped it. Tori wasn't really showing much improvement in eating with it. Just stopped it last Wed. And now she is eating more. We were on it since may July/Aug 2003 Contact Nestle they are the company that make Peptimen Jr. It runs about $8 per can but they do have a program to help you with cost if you qualify. Presently ins. is covering ours. We are g-tube fed. We switched after the convention from pediasure to peptimen and it made a HUGE difference. Let the teacher know to offer snacks at any time. More grazing than an actual snack time but also encourage to eat at snack time. This is what we are doing with preschool and it is only three hours long. We are from Norfolk. We have cousins in Lynchburg that teach at Liberty College. Maloy mom to Tori More Questions and a few Answers Hey Folks, As I was going over my list of questions to ask, and I remembered a few more.
