Guest guest
At Jake's last appointment with Dr. Harbison in October, we expressed our concern about Jake's small variety in his diet. So, she had a talk with Jake (who is 3 1/2 years old) and explained to him that he needed to try all different types of food. Then we were supposed to keep a book listing all the new foods and paste pictures from magazines of the new foods he tried and bring it back to her at his next appointment. Well we havrn't done the picture part yet, but we do have a running list on the fridge at home to add all the new foods he has tried in the past two months. Jake is so excited by the list and asks to have it at the dinner table and is eager to add new things to the list. And Jake is/was a very picky eater!!!!! The past few weeks, I haven't had to make him a special dinner .... he is just expected to eat what we are having. Life is good. Now obviously this won't work for a 1 year old, but maybe for some of the older kids. When Dr. H suggested this, I thought, yeah sure......it'll never work, he is so picky .......but suprise, suprise he is into it. I should have known better, because last July Dr. H got on him for not being potty trained and guess what.......by the next appt. he was! And she remembered!!!! Guest guest
Hi Alison, just out of curiosity what types of foods is Jake eating? Jordan likes to eat American cheese slices, chicken nuggets, rice, fish sticks (the inner portion only), thin slice turkey, French fries, squash (the jar of baby food), noodles ( lo mein, sphagetti - no sauce though). As you can see his diet is lacking fruits and veggies. Hope all is well. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Jordan is doing OK. He started GH Nov 20th. We still have to hold him down to give the injection but he's fine afterwards. Take care Lacey
