Guest guest
Hi Jodi R., Don't feel too bad about him not walking yet! Storm didn't walk until he was 22 months, and then he constantly hit his head as it was so much heavier than the rest of his little body! If you look at him now, it is hard to keep up with him! (It all evens out eventually!) Just thought I would share that you are not alone! Carmen, Mom to Storm age 8.5, 50 pounds 47 "
Guest guest
Carmen, Hey. Thanks for that. I am not too upset that he hasn't started walking. Shoot, he really just got his head control down! ) So, I am pleased with the way he is coming along. I was just wondering when some of the other RSS kids started to walk. Just curious. I am sure will be like Storm. Banging his head, because his head is still heavy for him. Did Storm have trouble eating? Did he have a tube? I am just wondering about all this. I wonder how compares. I am worried that he will have trouble eating by mouth. I don't even know how or when we would try. He gets so full now, he doesn't want anything. I guess Dr. H will have to let us know when we can stop tube feeding so much and try the oral feeds. I don't know! ) I am sure it will come in time. I guess I am just getting ahead of myself. Thanx again, Jodi R. 's momma > Hi Jodi R., > Don't feel too bad about him not walking yet! Guest guest
hi Jodi....just popped in to say that Imogen was 2 and a half when she started walking.....it was a fabolous time for us when she finally found her feet.Only drawback in the early days was as she was determined to make up for lost time she would run everywhere and being much more unstable then than she is now she would topple over a lot and bang her heavy head on the ground her little arms unable to save her. She often ended up with the odd black eye....not easy to explain away with the lame....'um...she fell over....' !! She doesn't fall more than any other child now....and often runs all the way to and from school leaving me puffed out!! Guest guest
Hi, started walking at 15 mos. Our ped. said that boys tend to walk later than girls and 15 months was still in the " average " range for boys. didn't do a true crawl until he was almost a year old. His head was so big compared to the rest of his body, he would put his head down on the carpet and just push along on his head. He wore a cranial band for four months, and boy he could really move along on that hard plastic! Guest guest
My son is non-rss and did not walk until he was 22 months. When he did it was as if he was in slow motion. At about 2 and 1/2 he discovered big wheels and hasn't slowed down. He's 25 tomorrow. Donna, g-ma to Alyssa Walking late > Hi Jodi R., > Don't feel too bad about him not walking yet! Guest guest
Alyssa started walking at 15 months as well. She also does not have the larger head that is often a part of RSS. She just wasn't ready until then. I was told this was on the latter end of normal. . . whatever " normal " is! Dayna, Mom to ALyssa
