Guest guest
I'm confused...what kind of A are we supposed to be giving. I think Cole is getting the wrong kind in his multi vitamins. Guest guest
Furhman says to get a multi without A and get the A from fruits and veggies. His reasoning is that too much A depletes calcium. I have a few personal issues with this: 1) Good luck finding a multi without A. Supernuthera has one but it also has too much of other things that concern me for my kids. 2) Can't you just fix this by getting extra calcium in there? 3) While I appreciate that our bodies are intricate and detailed machines that are facinating, somehow all of us survived without our parents running around worrying if a bean and cheese burrito would cancel minerals out. Don't get me wrong, I want to know this stuff and I think it makes a big difference in our kids because they are neurotypical, plus I really question what typical is anyway but I am sure it helps those kids too. With that said, I'll only focus so much on each little thing and stick to variety and whole foods, avoiding milk, gluten and soy for now, adding fish oil and taking it from there. Have I mentioned that while I trust Furhman's judgment the guy looks ill? Gene and Aggie Birocco wrote: >I'm confused...what kind of A are we supposed to be giving. Guest guest
Well there you have it...my kids are getting the wrong A. Ugghh! Anyone know of a chewable containing the right one? http://www.koshervitamins.com/shop/stores_app/Browse_Item_Details.asp?showpage=1\ & page_id=23 & Item_ID=414 Liz wrote: >Furhman says to get a multi without A and get the A from fruits and >veggies. Guest guest
I know he says that but Dr. Megson says that some kids need Vit A and it is the kind in the CLO. My CLO doesn't say and Cole doesn't take it anyway. His multi vitamins have Vit A Palmitrate and I think she says not that kind. I don't thing Vit A Acetate is good either....that is why I am confused. Guest guest
Liz...your kids don't get diarrhea from sorbitol and mannitol? That is what they use to sweeten sugar free candy in the candy store I used to work in and none of us could tolerate it. I guess if you are only taking 1 vitamin it is ok but some of us could not eat even 1 piece of candy. Guest guest
I get what you are saying and now figured out that our multi has the wrong A and I am not sure what is in our CLO or if we can even take it because of the soy...uggghhh. If it has the right A I may use it once in a while for good measure. Gene and Aggie Birocco wrote: >I know he says that but Dr. Megson says that some kids need Vit A and it is >the kind in the CLO. Guest guest
Believe it or not that is not an issue. I only chose this brand because no fluoride, etc. I am not stuck on a chewable. Any multi without A and without huge % of other stuff will do along with the right CLO. Gene and Aggie Birocco wrote: >Liz...your kids don't get diarrhea from sorbitol and mannitol?
