Ok, for any of you who do not remember, Bradley was born at 35 weeks

IUGR/SGA 3 p 15 ounces 16 1/2 inches tall. He had no breathing

problems and only reflux. A geneticist saw him at 11 days old and

suggested he MIGHT have RSS. We later got a diagnosis form 2

geneticist the he IS RSS. Well, with his great pediatrician and GI

doctor, Bradley has gained over 3 pounds in the last month and a

half. His GI dr set his zantac dose up to 1cc 3 times a day. He is

the happiest child still and goes to a babysitter a few days a week

while I am at work for a couple of hours. We go for a well baby

check next week, but he was sick 2 weeks ago and dropped form 18

pounds to 17 pounds in a weekend, hopefully he will have caught back

up by next week. He has no oral aversions and is eating almost

everyhting I do with no teeth yet. He is 27 1/4 inches tall at last

visit and before he lost the weight from illness was 18 pounds 2

ounces. He will be 10 months old on DEC 20. He is doign great and

started crawling in the last 3 weeks. Not very far, but still

crawling. His pediatrician is now trying to get his medicaid to

cover a visit to Dr H for re-evaluation. We are going through a big

mess with trying to get this approved. She wants him to go see her,

as she now thinks the diagnosis is a little off, because he is

growing so well and following such a good curve. he has more than

quadrupled his BW. They were maybe expecting him to be 15-18 pounds

at 1 year old. and they were not expecting the height to go over 26

before 1 either. since his jump on the curve, he is on all the

normal charts, albeit a little low on them, but he is on them. he

had a growth spurt, and although he can still wear the 3-6 month

clothing the bottoms are getting to short for him so he has moved

into 6-9 months for his height. My question is has anyone had any

problems getting out of state medicaid to pay for a visit to Dr. H

and how did you get it approved? My ped deals with 2 other RSS kids

in the practice, and she said Bradley should go see dr h for re-

evaluation as he is doing so well, she thoink he may have been mis-

diagnosed, He has most of the rss characteristics, but is huge for

an RSS child, she is concerned if we don't see dr h he will not

benefit from the path we are currently on. I don't know what to

think anyone anyone. Please advise.
