Hi all,

Thanks, Jodi and , for sharing your experience with insurance

coverage for growth hormones. I'm glad your insurance covered it. (What is

Phizer

Bridge, and how do you get in touch with them, ?) Has anybody had

trouble

getting insurance coverage for growth hormones? Is it always approved for

RSS? Has anybody ended up having to pay a substantial amount for GHT, and if so,

how much? Does the cost increase as the child gets older/bigger?

I also would appreciate hearing how other RSS parents have prepared your

children emotionally for daily injections of GHT? Do you tell them in advance

that

it will help them to grow? That it will hurt? At what age have you started

talking to them about RSS? My daughter Eliana is almost 4, and she's becoming

aware that she's smaller than her peers, but I've found it difficult to talk to

her about RSS.

Thanks for sharing any experiences you've had with GHT costs and with helping

your kids understand the need for daily injections.

Alice,

I can only answer one part of your question. Yes Gh does get more

expensive as the child gets older only because they take more. You

are still only paying your percentage according to your insurance

but as the child grows they need more gh.
