Hi, Jodi R. Yes, I did read your message that you posted last week,

but I guess with Max being so sick and in the hospital, I forgot and

did not reply. Now that things are calming down here, I am trying

to do a better job with keeping up.

Max is still pretty sick with the cold that started all of this, but

I am hoping that he will be okay to go back to school on Monday. I

had to take him to the doctor yesterday and he said that even if

there were school, he would not allow Max to go back before Monday

anyway. I hate to think of all the days he has missed!

I am loving my new teaching job. The kindergartners are so cute and

so needy. I have had to spend a lot of my own money to buy stuff to

fix up that empty room. We are going to start anew on Monday with a

unit on Gingerbread. I figured it is appropriate for this time of

year and I can easily tie in math, phonics, science (the five

senses) and the holidays (social studies). There is so much to do

just to catch them up! They will be going into first grade next

year and have just barely learned to write their names. Their first

names, no less. Sigh.

I'm glad to hear is gaining weight. What a relief. How much

does he weigh now?

Have a happy Thanksgiving. I will be home all day tomorrow working

on lesson plans for the month, so I'll try to check in at some point.
