Guest guest
Hi Sharon, I am so glad you responded. Once again, you had me just smiling to tears. You have such a great personality from what I can tell. Your very funny, anyway.....and ugly as sin....hee,hee! Do I get points for that comment??? ) It does sound like you were able to deal with childhood pretty well. You know, I am pretty short myself, a little less than 5'2 " , and I was always the shortest in my class and thus first in line. And, I didn't really get a break even if they put us in line by alphabetical order. My maiden name was Brothers, and that usually had me first in line that way, too!!! Are you feeling sorry for me yet?? ) Ha, ha. That really must have been hard on your parnets, not really knowing your true diagnosis for so many years. It was hard on my husband and I during 's first 15 months because the Dr.s here didn't have a diagnosis for him. They put him through every test imaginable, but everything was " normal " . They were stumped. Finally, his genticist did mention RSS, but said that the test they had would only show up in 10% of the cases. Of course, 's was NORMAL!! He went to a metabolic specialist who asked if anyone had said anything about the possibility of having RSS. He gave me Dr. Harbison's number, and she confirmed the RSS diagnosis just a couple of weeks ago. So, now we finally now, but I am so worried about now knowing enough to give the proper care. I worry about him getting sick, hypoglycemia, ear infections, etc. He has already had two ear infections in six months. I am here trying to learn more and get to know other parents of RSS children and RSS adults. I am so glad I hooked up with you, because you seem like a great person to talk to. I would love to email privately if you want to. I don't know how busy you are, but let me know if you want to. I have a couple others I am emailing privately, and it is easier for me that way. I feel it is a better environment to share more private info. Anyway, I hope that you have a great Thanksgiving and I hope you don't eat too much! ) I hope you don't have to sit at the table for an hour with turkey stuck in between your cheeks. Hee, hee. The hot dog thing was so funny. I could just see it. Take care, Sharon. Jodi Rollison 's mommy
