Included will be an explanation and examples of a simple IEP process that is outcome oriented and will lead toward improved transition planning and post school results. The session includes an overview of Indicator 13, followed by an examination of transition assessment in our schools including its strengths and limitations, practical issues, and an overview of sample tools. Advocacy in Action Legal Issues in Transition Planning Our Advocacy in Action project is designed to bring you key findings from important research in special education. We boil it down to the essential information and tell you why it matters. The newest issue of Advocacy in Action reports on a study of state-level administrative and district court rulings in the area of school-to-post school transition plans. The study identified five transition planning themes in the decisions reviewed and what did and didn't satisfy the courts. The findings from this study can assist parents and advocates in creating highly effective and legally sufficient transition plans for students with disabilities.
