Guest guest
I just posted new pics of christopher. there is one with him and his baby brother that is really cute. johnathon is now 5 months and 17.7lbs and 27 inches. christopher is 22 lbs and 33 inches. they are wearing the same size diapers and the baby is in 9-12 month clothes while christopher is in 18 months. how did any one else deal with the fact the baby will soon be bigger than the older child? jodie (nicholas-5 nonrss, christopher 2 1/2 rss, johnathon 5 months nonrss)

Guest guest
Hi Jodie, I'm not sure I can offer words of wisdom but I can tell you that you aren't alone. My Ben is almost 4 months old and I know that someday soon he will weigh more than Jack who is almost 2 years old. Jack will probably never get out of his size 3 diapers and Ben is already in size 2's. I guess I just figure this is the way life is at our house and I've just accepted it. I'm also hopeful that in the next couple of years we try growth hormone for Jack and that it will make a difference. I'll try to snap a shot of Jack holding Ben so there's a comparison picture of holding Jonathon. Guest guest
Jodie, I looked at your pics of and he is so cute. It seems like there are a lot of blondes, doesn't there? Guest guest
Jodie, The picture of the two boys is great. My RSS son was 4 before his brother came so the baby hasn't passed him yet. looks like he's a very proud older brother, even if he does have his hands full! looks alot like my son Jonathon with the blond hair. Guest guest
Hi Jodie, We're also dealing with the fact that our middle child (3y5m) is now bigger than his older brother (4y9m). Even our youngest (18 mos) weighs the same as her oldest brother. For the most part, it doesn't bother Tyler at all that is about the same height and weighs more than him. In fact, it has some bonuses as the two are quite evenly matched when they play wrestle. Also, even though there's just 16 mos b/t them, Tyler is obviously older in many ways: he's much more skilled in activities like building blocks and drawing, his language is much more advanced, and he understands a lot more than . I always worried about Tyler not being able to keep up physically, but I what I see more is the typical younger sibling's frustration when can't keep up with Tyler (drawings don't look as " good " to him; he knows Tyler's model airplanes look " better " ). So far, Tyler doesn't worry about being bigger (and more physically able). It's only at school where it's more of an issue. The two brothers adore each other and play fantastically well together. - in New Zealand
Guest guest
This sounds just like our home. is 19 months and about 21 lbs and 30ish inches tall. His 7 months old sister is about 18 and a half pounds. They also wear the same size diapers and she is outgrowing them. He is not. He is in 18 months size clothes (with a pin in the back of the pants ). She will soon be outgrowing her 12 months size clothes. My first-born child is an achondroplastic dwarf, all grown up at 28 and we have 4 more children younger than her. Each of them passed her in height at some point; certainly by the time they were 6 years old. It was something of a right of passage in our house to now be taller than Kim, but it wasn't all that strange to any of them. It was just the way their family was. There was never any doubt that Kim was the oldest. Children think that the way their family is, is normal. Only other people will think it is odd that the 'baby' is bigger than the big brother. Also, in my experience, little people of all sorts have such big personalities that they are NEVER overlooked.
