Guest guest
, Just a note - the sandals are the shoes. It would seem your child is already wearing the Markell shoes. Dr. P will write you a letter of medical necessity if needed to help get the shoes covered. They are much more costly than the Markells as each is custom made by hand but if you need them they are sooooo worth it. Chris Re: insurance question Marcia, Thanks for the info. Did you get the white shoes w/red bar? THat is what we have and we have only had them for a month when I called Cigna they told me that they were 100% covered. I hate the white shoes and would like to get the Markell boots that look like Birkenstocks. I will call and find out if they cover. We are in Phx, Az and we are going to see Dr. Ponsetti for the first time (YIPEE!) in August thanks to a wonderful member and friend that I met in this forum. I am hoping that CIgna will cover his visit as well. Let me know what happens! Take care (mom of Diego BC)

Guest guest
Actually, we got the white shoes w/the gold bar (it's not adjustable, I think the red one is?). I need to call Cigna back about it. I had asked them before we got it and they said they would cover it if it was " medically necessary " so I need to call them and tell them that yes, it is medically necessary and get her dr. to write a note or whatever if they won't believe me. Good luck! Marcia Re: insurance question Marcia, Thanks for the info. Did you get the white shoes w/red bar? Guest guest
I just wanted to add that if there's any way you can qualify for group insurance, that may be something to consider. When DH & I started our own business, we formed it as a partnership (as opposed to a sole proprietorship). That makes us both " employees " , and we qualify for small business health insurance. It was significantly cheaper than getting insurance just as Joe Schmo needing health insurance, and there's no pre-existing condition clause because we're a company and theoretically we could go hire 15 more employees tomorrow, and our rates are set based on our area, not age or anything. It's a little harder tax-wise, but the savings on insurance is worth it. > > > There is indeed a federal law that is in place that > > states that if there is no interruption of coverage > > - meaning you were with one company until August 31 > > and started another company on September 1 - then > > there can be NO pre ex clause enforced.
