Guest guest
Hi , As Amy said, I know this was directed towards , but I though I would pipe up too! LOL We saw her in NY a year ago Sept, and I have to say she was AMAZING! She walked into the examining room, looked at , and said " That baby is refluxing " . The Drs here would only look at test results, and not at the child himself! This caused them to misdiagnosed his problems repeatedly, and in the long run, had a hand in creating more problems than they solved. Dr H ran a Delayed Gastric Emptying study, upper GI, and an Endoscopy. With these tests she determined that her diagnosis was correct, and that needed a pyloroplasty and a fundo done, along with the g-tube. She KNEW that he needed these things, but she did run the tests to prove that she was correct. will have to let you know if you can consult with her directly, even if your child is not one of her " official " patients. Hope this helps. Pat (g-ma to , RSS, 22.5 months, 20# 1oz, 29.8 " , Prevacid, Zantac, Singulair, GT)
Guest guest
, I'd like to chime in here, too. Max was Dr. H's third RSS patient and now she has almost 200! She has come so far in the 15 years we have known her. If you are unable to go to NYC to see Dr. H., there are several ways to have her advice and be in touch with her. One is to go to the MAGIC convention in July. She offers free consultations and you would get a half hour with her as a " first-timer. " There are financail aid programs to help with the cost. can let you know more about that, but she is away for a couple of more days. Her husband " kidnapped " her for a nice getaway. Basically, you try to fundraise some of the money and then MAGIC matches what you raise, I believe. Or something like that. There are also people who donate money specifically to help people attend the convention who would otherwise not be able to. Once Dr. H. sees you there, then you can email her in NYC and she will offer advice. The other alternative is to have your doctor email Dr. H. If you email me privately, I can give you that address. But that is only for your doctor to use for now, okay? (magicrss @hotmail.com) Dr. H. does not believe in doing unnecessary testing. She can LOOK at a child and know what is going on, but has to do the testing of some sort just for insurance purposes and to cover her own butt, you know? She is a very special person in our lives.
