Guest guest
I'm sure this has been visited once before but I can't seem to find related posts on this when searching the archives. I've done some reading online and have read that improvements have been seen in children's speech when their diets were adjusted, such as cutting out gluten & casein and adding more Omega-3 rich foods to their diets. Or eliminating artificial additives & colorants....Have any of you done this? Have you noticed a difference? I'm considering purchasing the Feingold Program (www.feingold.org) for my son. He is also VERY active and does fit the early ADHD signs so I'm hoping by changing his diet, it will also change his behavior so that he is able to concentrate better. Right now, his ST is having problems working with him because he is just EVERYWHERE. He can't seem to focus on one task for longer than just a couple of minutes. Any thoughts? Guest guest
I've heard of Feingold. However not to sure what they market.Seems like commen sense stuff though. However am a believer in " you are what you eat " Case in point, several years ago, I modified Dr. Atkins diet for my kids. I simply cut out all white foods, and foods that contained sugar and white flour. Not only did my kids lose a few pounds- (they really needed to to) But more importantly, their teachers noticed improvements in their attention span, attitude, and general disposition. Hope that helps. Dawn in NJ. ps, we need to go back to our healthy lifestyle eating.. (hate the word diet) I'll let you know if their teachers notice > > I'm sure this has been visited once before but I can't seem to find related posts on this when searching the archives.
