Guest guest
I haven't been on site in a while, and noticing posts re: Prevacid and Zantac. We recently took Pippin off Zantac and put her on Pepcid. I haven't notcied any change...maybe more nocturnal coughs. But she also has a cold, so it's hard to tell. Pippin had another Uppper GI and a delayed gastric empty test. All normal. It's so frustrating! I now it's not normal, when my Ped comes back from India (adopting a baby) I am insisting on a PH Probe but so that tells us there is reflux we know that? Really what good is it if we know there is reflux? Anyway, I'm rambling..has anybody used Pepcid with good/bad/indifferent results. What age did your children start the Prevacid/Zantac cocktail? On a happier note: Pippin is sitting up, and last night we had a successful continual feed. 450cc at 45cc per hour. I got up 2x to vent her. She is 13 pounds and quickly heading for her 1st birthday and Tully is starting Preschool next week. I can't stand it! On a heads ups note: I'm seeing my favorite roomate from the hosp when I was in for 3 months w/ Pip's PG. Her daughter was born on the same day as Pippin. While I've seen many babies younger & older than Pippin doing more and less...I have a feeling this one will hit me very hard. I'm sure I'll head straight to this site where it is truly the only understanding link I have...Thanks in advance Sorry I've been MIA, I'll try to keep up! Guest guest
That is great news about Pippin. And her weight is pretty good, too, for an RSS baby, that is. Don't fret too much over the reunion. We are all here to turn to if you are upset, though. You may even find that your friend's baby has problems that you did not realize. I would not wish that on anyone, but you never know what you might see. Please let us know how the date goes. Jodi Z.
Guest guest
Hi, My son Jonah has been on Peptid for a while now and it does seem to help somewhat. The Gastro gives him a much larger dose than the pediatrician would give. Jonah takes .1ml twice a day. We are considering changing him to one of the proton pump inhibitors, but since he started periactin, he seems to be doing well. I am going to check his weight this week and decide if we should change or not. If his weight gain is good, we will probably just stick to the pepcid and periactin. Jonah had an endoscopy and everything came back normal too. The only outward sign of reflux is that he sometimes get congested. Our doctor said that we could put Jonah on the proton pump inhibitor even if there were no visual signs of reflux in his esophagus, so for now we are not doing any other tests. , mom to Jonah Anybody using Pepcid? > I haven't been on site in a while, and noticing posts re: Prevacid > and Zantac.
