Guest guest
Hey Chrissy, A proton pump inhibitor stops the production of acid in the stomach by disabling the the proton pumps. As I understand it, this med causes the stomach to shed the tubes that produce the acid, so that no acid can enter the stomach. It has REALLY helped with 's gagging/vomiting episodes. Bad days have become a rarity! YEAH!! There are several different meds Prevacid, Prilosec, Protonix, Nexium, etc... I don't know which ones are best for babies, but I have only heard of Prevacid and Prilosec being used in the very young ones like Madison and . Hope this helps!
