Guest guest
Carmen, I am assuming when you speak about your friend receiving Medicaid, even though their income is too high you are speaking of a Medicaid Waiver? Jake doesn't qualify for SSI, but is on a wait list for one of Virginia's Medicaid Waivers. Which means he does " qualify " , but doesn't get the benefits because they don't have enough money to fund this particular waiver. It is so frustrating. Our state has six different waiver options, all with their own set of qualifications. Thanks, Alison > Jodi, > If you go the web site for Social security and look up what qualifies > for children, there are several that our RSS kids can fit into. Guest guest
Alison, From what the mom told me, they have SSI. They used to receive a check, but no longer qualified for monitary assistance, but they did not take away the medicaide. I'm not sure of all the details, this little boy has been in the hospital for about 6 months or so, and is now in ICU for liver failure. He went through a couple of surgeries, chemo and a stem cell transplant. (What a trooper!) Anyhow, his medical needs are WAY out of my league! I'm not sure of the qualifiers, but this type of cancer automatically qualified him! Carmen
