Guest guest
Hi everyone. I just got a call from Yadira this morning. My appointment was changed for the third time. They kept moving it up. We are going on October 23. Anyone else going this day? Also, I am having a little trouble with insurance. Dr. H is covered, but Dr. Spigland and NYPH is not covered by my insurance. That worries me, becasue according to Yadira, will more than likely be admitted and have tests run. Yadira talked to Dr. H while I was on the phone adn Dr. H told her that it would be taken care of, as far as my insurance not paying goes. Anyone no what she may have up her sleeve. Plus, I really need to be sure that it will be covered because or money is very tight right now and we couldn't afford to pay those bills for a surgery possibly and tests. We are trying to get ssi or some type of help, but we aren't sure we will get it. Of course this takes forever too. Anyway, just seeing if anyone had any thoughts. I am a little nervous about the trip. has just been put on oxygen at night and they say if he flies he will need it then, too. Also, the oxygen tank people ) said I couldn't take their tanks on an airplane. Eeck! This is driving me crazy. I hate to drive with him 10 hours in a car. He lays in a car bed and that wouldn't be a great trip for him. Jodi R.

Guest guest
Jodi - you should call around the airlines. I know that when I was making arrangements to fly a little girl out from Idaho to the convention, and she was on oxygen, I found one airline who WOULD hook her oxygen tank up to their system. But the mother was going to have to know what levels and stuff. If I recall, it was Delta Airlines, United or Southwest, if that helps rule it out a bit. > Hi everyone. Guest guest
Jodi, I am so glad that you have an appointment soon with Dr. H. You are going to be taken care of and your little boy will get the help he needs. We have an appointment to see Dr. H. on October 28, so I will look for you and see if you are still in the hospital then. Do not worry about the cost. As long as you are up front with Dr. H. about insurance and what they will and will not cover, she will take care of the rest. I have seen her and heard her on the phone with insurance companies and she always gets them to pay. If they do refuse after speaking with her (a rarity at that), she will find a way to make sure the costs are covered in another way. Do not worry about that. She is more concerned about 's health than money. And I'm sure Dr. Spigland feels the same. As for flying with oxygen, I believe that if you let the airline know that your son needs oxygen, they will provide it for you. You cannot bring that tank on the plane for fear it will blow up. Let Dr. H. know about needing oxygen and she will tell you how to have it ready for him in NYC. Jodi Z.
