Guest guest
Paige, I don't know if anyone else has replied, but I thought I might try to help out. It is important to list every doctor your child sees and explain that they only take straight medicaid. (Get letters from each doctor that explain that your child NEEDS this medical care)They are good at making it sound really almost worse than it really is! I am currently working on this same problem. Luckily all of Storm's specialist to accept the managed care medicaide, but we have to get pre-approval and referrals for EVERY visit. If we had straight medicaide, we would not need any referrals! (It's a pain for us and the Primary Pediatrician!) Have you thought of applying for SSI. If your child qualifies for SSI, they automatically get straight medicaide,(at least in Texas they do!) We are still weighting to find out! (I have a friend whose child is on SSI, they make too much money to receive any money, but he still gets medicaide based on HIS need!) I hope this will help you! Your doctors can help you too, they do this stuff all the time. They know what to say! Carmen, mom to Storm (RSS) and Paisley
