Guest guest
I would also worry, even if I did not really need too. I know on a "normal" child they don't worry as fast, but with mito things can snowball very quickly. I don't know how to really check it, other than insisting your pediatrician to take a look at her. I know common things that can linger are usually strep throat (which is usually not symptomatic in my house), ear infections and bladder infections, and the all so fun UTI. Also if she does already have dystautonomia problems, I would watch her when she is outside. It may be a heat regulation problem. Even with cooling vests, and all that good stuff Grace will run a low grade fever almost every time she is out in the heat for a while. Guest guest
It could be a virus, but, zachary has gradually developed a regular low grade fever running pretty much consistantly daily from 99.5-100.5 I usually will take him in anything over 100 + . The dr. said its common in kids w/ metabolic disorders. I dont know why they havent explained but zach gets lethargic the higher it gets. You can feel it radiate through his body when its about 100.5 + I am concerned about it yet the dr.s dont seem to be. I told the school though if he is above 100.5 then to call me and i'll get him but dont call me unless its higher then that. mom to zach 4 ga2 alexis 5 thefourofus03 wrote: My youngest Molly, (yet undiagnosed) has been running a low grade temp for over four days now. It is abuot 99-100 during the day then goes up to about 102 in the evening. She has absolutely no other sypmtoms except fatigue. It is hard to know what is normal since with our family and mito we never deal with normal. Molly does have symptoms of autonomic dysfunction and her normal temp is about 97- so 100 is quite high for her. When do you start to worry about temps? I spoke with 's doc this morning just to bounce it off of her and she says that they really don't start to worry until 7-10 days! Everything I have read says that any fever lasting over 3 days should be investigated. Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks, DawnPlease contact mito-owner with any problems or questions. __________________________________________________
Guest guest
Dawn, With the mito issues I am not sure when you should have a doc look at her. I have been told the 7-10 days with a fever and then come in if things don't change with the girls. Usually after 7-8 days things are better. Sorry I can't be of any help. Thinking of you though.
