Guest guest
amazing Sundays-- Challenger Little League Posted by: " fourboyseema " 4boyzmom@... fourboyseema Wed Jun 27, 2007 7:28 pm (PST) For all parents of special needs & /or " typical " children: There is a new Challenger little league that has been started in Edgewater, NJ, less than 15 minutes away from Teaneck. Because it is brand new, there were only 4 games (on Sundays) played this season. The plan is to pick up again in September (through October) and then April-June. The players needs range from the physical to the autistic spectrum. Every child gets a uniform (t-shirt & hat), and registration/participation is free. Every child bats and fields, with the help of a " buddy " player. There is an amazing announcer and the field is beautiful. The fans cheer equally for every player, and the pride is evident on every face. If you have a special needs child, sign them up! If you are looking for an extremely rewarding activity for your " typical " child (or yourself!) make an effort to join this league. The buddies are people of all ages (young kids to adults), there to practice, coach, or just run with each player. No matter who you are, you can make a difference to these kids and have a fantastic time doing it. Contact Ita Saldana for further information. 201-282-4785 , email Ita@... .
