Guest guest
Is there something specific I should look for in selecting one? What am I looking for in this doctor? What type of credentials? Does a child have to be diagnosed with autism to go to one? What do I tell them when trying to schedule appt. or are these usually done by referrel only. I'm trying to learn as much as I can and not really sure what a DAN doctor does or is. Can someone explain any of this to me? Any information would help. Thanks. Guest guest
Tasha re DAN!s You don't have to be diagnosed with autism to go to one. Most are private and do not need a referral - and are probably not insurance reimbursable - it depends on if they have other medical practice (not all DAN!s are medical doctors) To read more about choosing a practitioner and a worldwide list of " certified " DAN! folks: http://www.autism.com/dan/index.htm A good article by Dr. about the various treatments available is: http://tinyurl.com/2ppmgw ____________________________________________________________ GET FREE 5GB EMAIL - Check out spam free email with many cool features! Guest guest
Dr. DeMio is in Ohio. I live in MI and we go to him. AFter going through the chain of (denial) command going to this guy was a huge breath of fresh air. I chose him because (after going to a non DAN who was on the list btw) I saw parents talking about him on the lists, noticed he goes to conferences and often a speaking participant. After being juggled around by idiots who are only proficiant at billing, paying this guy was a no brainer. He actually does something. His card reads: biomedical treatment of OCD, ADD, ADHD, learning problems and Autism. They are all related.. vaccine injury. DeMio - near Cleveland, OHIO - don't worry about distance.. I'd fly to tim buck tu to get a competitant Dr. at this point. Once the initial visit and testing is done, he gives you the option of follow ups via phone. Which is still far more than you get from the poisen pushing Pediatrition. My 2 cents. > > I was wondering how you go about finding a DAN. I live in the middle > between Cincinnati and Dayton Ohio. >
