Developing Successful Migrant Health Delivery Models & Funding Proposals January 28-29, at the Portland Marriott Downtown Waterfront Delivered by the National Association of Community Health Centers, Inc., and a team of experts, this one and a half day hands-on intensive will review the basics of Federally Qualified Health Centers, as well as provide guidance on recognizing and developing appropriate migrant health delivery models (health center, mobile unit, voucher program) and writing competitive funding proposals. Who should attend: Current grantees, potential grantees and new staff wanting to get an in-depth view of 330-migrant health grant writing. Why this is a great opportunity: Participants will have lots of time to ask questions and will gain ideas directly related to their particular health care situation. Detailed Workshop Description Part I of this two-part intensive will focus on the fundamentals of program expectations, strategic thinking in developing your program and how to locate data and do a comprehensive needs assessment. Participants are encouraged to bring previous and current proposals and funding ideas for discussion and feedback. Part II will build on the fundamentals of the previous session, with a focus on the pragmatics of developing effective health and business plans that form the basis of sound migrant health programs and funding proposals. In this workshop the participants will learn the core aspects of the health and business plans and will work on developing realistic goals and objectives.
