Guest guest
We were looking into getting a cooler vest for Joey. You guys have steered us in a good directions on finding one. I got a E-Mail back on one yesterday that they do carry Cooler Vest, yet they do not take insurance. Are they very costly? What I read yesterday it looks like $500. To us that is alot! Can my doctor just write a note? Maybe insurance will help that way. He is already having trouble in the heat and the summer is not even here yet. Thanks Tamara
Guest guest
tamara, If u sign up on the HED foundation site u don't have to pay they put you on a waiting list and when they get enough donations they send it to u. It doesn't usually take to long. The only other suggestion I have is getting a sponser. Like a business or soemthing. I know they now have a new spokesperson for the HED foundation and its Gandolfini from the Saprano's. So I hope that they now will get more donations. As the HED foundation also does full suits for children of the night. They are deathly allergic to sun or light over certain wattages. So they get a whole suit and they are $2500 so they go on list to so who ever coems up first gets them. Our school that my daughter goes to gets one to keep at school. I wish you luck on getting one. > >Reply-To: Mito >To: Mito >Subject: Does insurance help with a cooler vest? >Date: Sat, 24 Apr 2004 21:11:07 -0000 > >We were looking into getting a cooler vest for Joey. Guest guest
You are going to have to check your insurance policy. With ours it does cover durable medical equiptment and supplies, but there is an exception where it will not cover anything that can be an article of clothing. My suggestion is to contact the Moody Foundation, www.sarahmoodyfoundation.org. They are getting my daughter a cooling vest at no cost to us (yet we are going to fundraise some to help out). Best wishes.
