Guest guest
Well, I got my records for my surgery in the mail yesterday. Now I know EXACTLY what I had...if I knew what it meant. LOL The surgical record says, " loop gastrojejunostomy and tube gastrotomy. " Anybody care to translate that for me? LOL But, if Dr. Carolyn is hanging around, or maybe even one of our nurses, they may be able to figure it out. Can you print out the description of what you think it might be and show your surgeon? I do think it's wonderful, after all this time, that you were able to get your surgical report. Kudos to your doc for keeping such good records. in NJ

Guest guest
, here’s the description, taken directly from my surgical report. See if you can figure it out. LOL “” PROCEDURE: The skin of the abdomen was prep d with Ic rep, a six inch midline epigastric incision, SI ~p dissection carried through the subcutaneous tissue and linea alba and peritoneum. Gomez retractors Inserted. The cardlophrenic ligament was then incised followed by mobilization of the lower two Inches of esophagus. The gastrocolic and gastrosplenic ligaments containing vessels were then divided using hemoclips and LOS stapler. The TA-90 stapler was then passed beneath the upper stomach leaving a 40 cc. proximal pouch. The stapler was fired, removed, reloaded and fired again. A retrocolic isoperistaltic end-to-side gastrojejunostomy was then performed using an outer layer of interrupted 2-0 sIlk, GIA stapler for the inner anastomosis. The rent in the stomach and jejunum was then closed with Inverting 2-0 silk Connell suture. The transverse mesocolon was closed with suturing the cut edges of the afferent and efferent gastrojejunostomy limbs. Tube gastrotomy was then performed using a separate stab wound, A #25 cc. Foley catheter, purse-string suture technique. Operative field was then lavaged with Chlorpactin. The mesoappendix ~as cross-clamped, divided and ligated with 0 cotton, the base of the appendix was doubly clipped, divided and the raw surface was cauterized. The abdomen was then closed in layers using Interrupted figure-of-eight 2-0 wire on the fascia.
