I am post op...8/15/01. down a little over 100 pounds, stuck, frustrated, but enjoying all the 'getting started again' posts. My surgeon does NOT endorse liquid food ie, protein shakes or anything of the sort. 'real food', that's it. BTW, I am a registered nurse..there is alot of erroneous information floating around. Be careful where and how you get your information. Regarding staple line disruption...mucus to mucus is hard to seal..like tryihng to get your nostril to stick to yur septum by holding it there. The idea is that the staples should be disruptive enough to cause scar tissue to form, adn TGHAT will hold thins in line. There area surgeons who SEW...hence, no STAPLE line disruption.
