Guest guest
Hello. Today is the first anniversary of my surgery date 2/5/02. Met with the surgeon today. He says I am doing really well. When I tell him thank you so much, he usually responds with, " YOU did it! " He is pleased with my results. I was not accepted to have the surgery for two and a half years because of my severe psychiatric problems. He just wasn't sure I could go through it and then be able to really comply. After jumping through the hoops he plced before me, he reconsidered and now it's been an entire year which is so incredibly hard to realize. I am truly grateful for everything -- even the almost 6 weeks in the hospital with complications -- but especially for my foster family who encouraged me and stayed with me every inch of the way above and beyond the call of duty and also especially for my doctor's having me wait so long so I could more fully realize what I was doing and going to be doing. My beginning weight in his office was 266 (5'6 " ) and is currently 135 with a normal BMI of 22. My top weight before seing him was 300. He is very pleased. I am very plesed. I am now facing the anxiety of trying to add more foods to my diet and adjust to life as a normal-weight person and facing the list of losses that occurred when the weight was lost. Scary and insecure and vulnerable and no excuses for my behavior now. Sorry to talk so long. Just wanted to introduce myself. Thank you, Jacque.
