just my two cents worth:

I think I can speak for most people here and say we are happy for people's

happinesses and sad for people's sadnesses. No more, no less. This group has

profound generosity of spirit no matter how strange, irritable, funny or odd

any one of us is on a given day. I think it bears repeating: we are happy for

people's happinesses and sad for people's sadnesses. No more, no less.

Whatever beauty a soul perceives they have been granted or have created, is

meant, I am sure, to be enjoyed, and the so-called " flaws " are somewhere way

down the list, under the banner of " Interesting IIf True, But So What? "

And in our own lives we each have goals of many kinds we are striving toward.

The one thing I know about goals is that if you're going to be in a race, it

is wasteful to look over your shoulder. If it isn't a race, you get to enjoy

everything as you go along.

Our culture loves to clash women against women and, men against men. Who has

the most, who has the least, who has the biggest and most, who has the

littlest and best? Guinness(sp) Book of Records and even Ripley's Believe it

or Not! could not exist amongst the creatures of the woods and the birds of

the skies, only amongst humans and their infernal obcession with " comparing

wee-wees " .

I/ve said it before and I will say it again; every one is a -one-of-a-kind

soul with a one-of-a-kind destiny on earth, the least of which is what the

culture sets up as competition regarding looks, weight, size, shape.

Do you think wolves rise up in the mornings wondering if their asses are too

big in these haunches? Do you think birds wonder if their bubble butts are

going to make it into the air? Do you think the bumblebee worries about the

fact that some scientists have said technically the bumble bee is too

heavy-bodied to really be able to fly? How about the horse, does it wake up

every morning and look into the water trough worrying whether it is pretty

enough? Surely we are not less than the beloved creatures of the world. Fly!

Gallop! Run! Live!

I have a feeling horses and dogs and creatures of all kinds take absolute joy

in all they do, especially being able to move at will. All my life I have

watched animals old, young, middle aged, stand in the wind and act like they

are kings and queens of the universe: Why would we act any less?

love,

ceep, old woman who lives in the forest
