Lucky girl. After surgery they started to change color. When she switched to calcium citrate from the calcium carbonate, the color came back to its original beatutiful shad of white. Guest guest
For what it's worth...I have dentures now. I can make them any shade of white I want them. I go to have my final impressions made on the 13th. So... anyone else had any problems???? >> ---------------------------- I went to a diff dentist than my usual one for teeth whitening bcuz he had a " special promo " going on that was HALF the price of what my dentist would have charged. He made a cast of my teeth and I picked it up an hour or so later and a whitening kit. You squeeze this clear gel into the mold of your teeth and then put the mold onto your teeth, supposedly while you're sleeping, but I did it during the day. I did not like this procedure at all. The gel was hard to squeeze out, the tip busted out several times and I lost a lot of the gel, it was hard to spread around evenly in the molds, and I was petrified to swallow any saliva whenever I was wearing them for fear of whatever chemicals I might ingest. My teeth got a bit whiter over several days, but not evenly, and were weirdly whiter at the ends than at the gumline. This stuff irritated my gums like heck whenever it squooshed out of the molds at the gumline, and after about the 3rd day, I actually started getting shooting pains in some of my teeth. I gave up and went to my regular dentist and had the whitening done where they put a light on your teeth for so many minutes and so many repetitions. He did it longer and for more times than you're actually supposed to and it still didn't get my teeth all that much whiter. He said that happens to some people and (man, I just HATE these 3 words anymore) " everybody's different. " In fact, he only charged me 50% of his going rate bcuz he said he KNEW I was gonna be disappointed when I looked at 'em. That 50% still cost me $250 !! One thing his nurse told me, and that was, whatever you do, don't try those OTC whitening kits; they will just eat the enamel right off your teeth, and also can cause bigtime gum irritation. I can believe THAT, just from the other dentist's kit I tried and that wasn't even OTC. Carol A
