Guest guest
Trena, good input. I can't believe how isolated I've made myself. I've lost 30#, but many that aren't close to me don't see it. I've changed and want to get out. I went for 4 hours to a mall with my daughter and granddaughter, and was fine with other people. I think I must already have the soul of a thinner person, or maybe it's the hope that has been lost for so long. I feel sad to say that this isn't only my doing, but society's view on obesity, like you're less of a person....pun intended. As to your question, the BMI that they used was when I had my first consultation. I know people that have had lower BMI's than what is normally required, but still qualify for the surgery due to health problems. Guest guest
Joan, it is so true what you about having the soul of a thinner person...I had my surgery on 9/29 and am down 67 pounds, I find myself feeling and thinking like a thin person...I think it is because I used to feel gross when I was heavier. Once you start this and you lose some of the bloat, then it becomes easier to become more confident and feel thinner. It is a strange thing. Anyway, there is my 2 cents... Hannah > Trena, good input.
