When I was in college back in early 70's, in an Anthropology class, we had to do a paper on one of the " new " religions. I chose Scientology. I went to their main offices in NYC and was seated in an empty room to watch a film. All I remember about it was that life was beautiful if you were a Scientologist, sunsets, running water & all that, but what sticks in my mind was the eerie feeling that they were going to lock the doors and never let me out....yes, it seemed very cult-like. I guess I " missed " the point. JMO, in NJ

There is nothing concrete offered in the way of concept of credo to glom onto. Carol A >>

I love this list, where we can talk about poop, puke, bad food, good food, shar pei butts, belly rashes, calcium, calcium, calcium...lol. But God forbid we engage in a discussion of impending WWIII or a religion. The Baptist take on this would be " you might be fat or wrinkly for a few years, but hell is forever " ....delivered in breathless brimstone cadence of course. Yes, I know I am being bad, bad, bad. I'm laughing at myself as I write this so it must be a giddy reaction to meeting IRS filing deadlines yesterday. I think I live and die by so many damn deadlines sometimes I just have to rebel a little bit. B

It is just plain rude and disrespectful of others. Do you at all remember when you were morbidly obese and people wrote or said thing about you.
