Guest guest
Hi all well i am on the full liquid part of my diet and thought i was doing well but find out i am not eating and drinking enough any tips would be helpful. I dont like hot cereal and so breakfast i find myself with just my juice and sometimes my instint breakfast drink, I know all dont have the same diet but any other things that i may eat on the liquid diet with high protien would be appreciated I just dont feel like i am doing well with it. I have lost 22 pounds in one week and feel good that way but feel very tired and depressed is this normal for everyone??? I guess maybe just seeing everyone else eating so well and me sitting with my cream of chicken soup with leaves room for desired taste. lol... I guess I am probably doing better than some and shouldnt complain; I only had suergery less than 2 weeks ago. I just feel so weak and lifeless right now, any tips ??????????? Well hope all else is well and thanks for being there all. Guest guest
Let's see if we can help some here. Tomato soup. Milk, expecially the newer high proteon/low fat kind. SF/FF puddings. SF/light yogurts. There are even clear liquid items avaiable online which have protein added to them and are very high. You can add protein powder to Kool Aid if you wanted to. Use your imagination. Almost anything works. > Hi all well i am on the full liquid part of my diet and thought i was doing > well but find out i am not eating and drinking enough any tips would be > helpful. Guest guest
, sorry you're going through a rough time. I was off the liquid in a week, and remember wishing I had something to chew. There's jello. Can't think of other liquids. I drank a lot of water. I had to force it, watch t.v. with a glass in my hand and keep sipping. If I put it down, I forget about it. I've heard many get depressed after surgery. When you see the doctor, let him know, or if you feel really depressed, a phone call would be good....don't wait until the next visit. My weak point hit at about 3 weeks, and it scared me, until I realized this happens to many and was part of the course. Now I'll rest for an hour in the afternoon so I have enough energy to finish the evening. How long are you to stay on the liquid diet?? Guest guest
Being tired is very normal and with the tiredness comes the depression, you mind and body are adjusting to a new way of life and this is totally normal...I am 12 weeks out now and eat some kind of soup once a day because I experimented with so many in the first stages, I know what I can tolerate...Most of my soups I even throw in some cheese for more protien(of course it melts, so it stays at the desired consistency for me)...Grits, cream of wheat, SF instant breakfast(was my breakfast for the first 6 weeks). apple sauce, things like that...I was told that at about 4 weeks to make sure what i was eating was well blended. anytime i try something new i always take about 3 bites about 5 minutes apart to see how it will sit in my tummy. I have had really good luck with that strategy and have never gotten sick in 12 weeks. Stick to what your doctor tells you to eat and you will be fine! I am not sure how far along you are, but after about 3 weeks, the tiredness and depression went away, and with the B- 12 I felt like I could conquer the world. Good luck! hannah opne rny 9/29/03 288/224/??? > Hi all well i am on the full liquid part of my diet and thought i was doing > well but find out i am not eating and drinking enough any tips would be > helpful.
