Infected Incision

Hi,

My incision started to look infected over the weekend. On Sunday

night it opened a tiny bit and a lot of yucky drainage came out.

Monday morning I went to the Surgeon. They put me on antibiotics

and took a culture of it. It is still draining a lot of fliud? Is

this what infections do? Did any one have trouble with infections

from Open Rny and will share with me. I don't have a fever but the

incision is a little red around the top where the leaking area is.

I am following dr. advice, but am a little scared. I guess I just

want to get better.

Thanks in advance

Mindy

Yes, it sounds like an infection. If I was to guess, internal at the

site of one of the stitches. Don't sweat it. Sounds like they are

keeping up on it. That is the best you can ask for.
