Guest guest
I'd like to know if anyone is using L Carnosine, not in the formulation made in Carnaware. Has anyone seen results from using health food store L carnosine, zinc separately, and then the E tocopherol making your own mix since those are the ingredients in Carnaware? What kind of results did you see, and once you noticed improvement did you/are you keep supplementing? Thanks-- Cheryl
Guest guest
I have been using L-Carnosine for about 6 months - in 500mgs and have not seen a difference in my son. He has been dx w/ PDD/NOS and Apraxia. I wish I had better results to report. He also gets 3 EFAs in a.m. and 2 EFAs/1EPA in pm and have added 400 mg of Vit E this week. He has been on EFAs and EPAs for almost 21/2 years - very good results on EFAs... . He also takes Liquid Health Attention and SuperNu Thera vits. hope this helps Phyllis and Nicolas 6 years old

**************************************
AOL now offers free email to everyone. Guest guest
- It makes me wonder why, and discouraged why it works for some and not others.Carnaware does have 2.5mg of zinc and 25iu of E,so they probably play a role in making the carnosine in carnaware Carnaware effective...???..Thankyou for you input Phyllis, Cheryl -- In , Ratliffp@... wrote: > > I have been using L-Carnosine for about 6 months - in 500mgs and have not > seen a difference in my son. Guest guest
I wonder if you are talking about L carnitine not L carnosine. I give my son acetyl carnitine 500 mg. Not sure if it is working yet, because we just started it a couple of weeks ago. We added it for more focus and to hopefully fix hypotonia in upper trunk. He is 13 and recently qualified for adaptive PE because of gross motor delays. I hope this supplement will work to help his severe reading disability as well. Guest guest
I would try increasing to 800 mg/day. Do you give your son zinc? > > I have been using L-Carnosine for about 6 months - in 500mgs and have not > seen a difference in my son. He has been dx w/ PDD/NOS and Apraxia. Guest guest
- Lorraine, I did mean L Carnosine which is the main ingredient in Carnaware which from what I gather from their web sight is supposed to help things like focusing, attention, probably auditory processing because I think I remember it saying some kids did better at repeating back words and had better language skills. But as for L carntine it is from what I gather reading here help in areas like muscle tone(it actually helps carry fat to the cells for utilization). We just started our daughter 3 1/2 on it 11 days ago and we are seeing some changes in focusing and just seeming more physical coordination. It's hard to explain but the way sha moves seems like she's more comfortable in her own body, acting more wiggly and twisting around ,I guesws you'd say like a normal three and a half year old. I wish you good luck trying it with your son. Cheryl -- In , boudreaulorraine@... wrote: > > I wonder if you are talking about L carnitine not L carnosine. I give my son acetyl carnitine 500 mg.
