I have never been married. For a long time I have not wanted to have anything

to do with getting married. Things have changed a little since my WLS. For the

first time in my life, I met a man I was actually attracted to. The most

amazing thing is that he was attracted to me. It was one of those things, where

you look into one another's eyes and feel like you have known each other

forever, and that person is the " right one " I am 52 years old and this has

never happened to me before.

The timing of this wedding thread is very interesting. Seeing some of you with

wonderful marriages is very heartening. I met a couple of weeks ago,

and will attest that she and Don are crazy about each other. It was wonderful

to see. It seems that up until now, most of the marriages I have seen have been

awful (including my parents).

This must be one of those " when you are ready for a teacher, you will find one "

deals. Everyone on this list is a teacher.

RE: Wedding Dreams

Details, details....isn't that just the way it goes? This is my 3rd

marriage. All since WLS. The first lasted 6 weeks. Big mistake. He was a

sweet man, but I knew the moment I said, " I do, " that I didn't. The second

lasted 10 years. He left me for a fat woman. No joke. But she could (and

did, before we even discussed divorce) get pregnant and pass on his

wonderful genes. I couldn't. And I think I intimidated the hell out of him.

Oh well. God was saving the best for last for me. We've been married 3 years

now, and he takes my faults and makes them virtues. Today, I wanted to be

lazy. REALLY lazy. Lay in bed and watch soaps lazy. And it was just fine

with him. He's off on Fridays. I got up at lunchtime, and made him a couple

of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. He didn't ask for them, but you'd

have thought they were gourmet cooking. He acted like they were just what

he'd have asked for if he'd thought about it for awhile. He's my hero.

Through and through. Now, I'm going back to bed to watch Dr. Phil solve the

world problems. I'm such a spoiled brat. He's taking me out to dinner

tonight. :)
