Guest guest
I don't think you should be able to eat anything you want at this stage....You had surgery on 11/18, right? Stay away from the carbs - totally. My doc says no veggies for 4 months. I'd stick with protein only. I'm doing eggs, cheese, soy meatballs, etc. Get back to basics and see how you feel. Best of luck and feel better soon!

Guest guest
, This too will pass. Stay positive. I had these same problems and you are going to have to eat reeeaally slow. Use a baby spoon so you don't put too much in your mouth at one time and chew really good also. Right now the opening going into your stomach is real small and it takes longer for the food to get into your stomach, this is why it hurts in your chest and feels like it is stuck. Actually what is happenings is that you are filling your esophagus up with food and it has to have time to empty into your stomach. Hang in there girl it gets a lot better. Guest guest
Thank you all for the advice. I do eat very slowly and it still feels the same. I am on meds for this but the one he gave me to take (Reglan)before eating I can not take all the time I am suppose to take it 30 min before each meal but it puts me to sleep and I have 3 children and have to do alot of arrons during the day while they are at school so this is a big no- no. I have only been on solids for 2 days and feel as tho it will never get better. But I read in a health journal that you can feel nausiated and sick for at least 3 months post op. I just wish my nausia would go away. I have put myself back on liquids and purees and even when I drink tiny sips it hurts. So again thank you all for the advice

Guest guest
I too started on veggies my 3rd week post-op. They've all been fine. So far I've only tried cooked, but salad is also on my list. Joan lap RNY 11/18/03 Dr. Higa, Fresno, CA 282/250/
