Did anyone hear the blurb on the news today about taking more than 1.5mg

daily of Vit A appears to make bones break more easily?

Does anyone know what the conversion is from mg to iu? All my data is based

on dosages expressed in iu. Also no mention made whether this is ANY AND ALL

Vit A, or just from animal sources. So far, any info I've come across has

said there are no toxicity problems with beta carotene (plant sourced A).

Anyone out there have more detailed info? Knowledge of the study this bit was

based on? Would appreciate hearing what ya know.

Carol, my limited knowledge of Vitamin A is that it is water soluble so

what the body doesn't use it gets flushed like Vitamin C. Hope this

helps.

Not true. It's oil-soluble and too much can cause lots of problems. This

particular report said bone breakage. I'm looking for anyone who knows the

name of the report, researcher, med journal it appeared it, etc so I can read

it myself.
