Guest guest
Well all I am home and been since Saturday night, I had my surgery on Dec 3rd. I think i am doing really well but not really for sure. I had origanally went in for the lapro gastic bypass but ended up having to be open they had to fix 2 hernas (never new i had) and took out my gall bladder with 2 gall stones size of half dollars (which i never new i had) and fix a mess up intestial which didnt know i had either all and all i guess i would say i am doing good for all that. I am sort of sore yet but not bad the worst thing is the lack of feeling in my butt and lower back they say caused from the weight being left in the same spot for a long time during surgery 4 hours, HAS ANYONE ELSE HAD THIS HAPPEN AND HOW LONG DID IT LAST? ALSO DID ANYONE SEEM TO LOSE CONTROL OF THERE BLADDER FOR A FEW DAYS AFTER, AND BOWLS? I have found this happen twice now and seems i have no real feeling below but it does seem to be returning slowly. I havent really felt deprived at all and food seems to stay down or i should say liquids so far, tomorrow i start full liquid diet yippy. But I feel pretty good over all i guesss. Was this worth it let me get back to you when I am feeling better and see how much weight i have lost. BUT OTHER THAN THAT ANY TIPS WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED! LOTS OF LUCK FOR OTHERS TO COME AND GOD BLESS DEE DEE PRE OP 498LBS POST OP ON THRUSDAY BUT AS OF LAST CHECK 478LBS _________________________________________________________________ Shop online for kids’ toys by age group, price range, and toy category at MSN Shopping. Guest guest
DeeDee, Let me start by saying my experience was NOT typical, due to many complications I had. That being said, I also did experience the numbness in my lower back and buttocks. Mine continued for months (actually still there to a small extent), but 1.)I was bigger than you pre-op, and 2.)I was in the hospital for 3 months and then in a wheelchair for a few more months after. I'm just letting you know it happened to me to. I also did have loss of control of bladder and bowel functions. I was told they were caused by colon spasm, and although extremely embarassing, they did eventually lessen and stop all together. Hope this helps a little!
