Guest guest
, The day of discharge all I wanted to do was sleep. If you plan to sleep by the pool you may want to put someone in charge of turning you every so often. The next 2 days I took an hour nap in the afternoon and after that it was back to normal routine. I would like to give 2 unsolicited pieces of advise. 1) We have a lot of support from each other and those we bring along, then when we are in the waiting area prior to surgery we are alone with our thoughts and concerns. Several others have posted about patients (not MGB) that were acting up in this area and how unnerving it was for them. I had one of these in my group 2 stretchers over was a woman preparing for back surgery. She was screaming for someone to give her something for pain. I hope none of you experience this but I want you to be prepared in case it does. 2) Take saltines with you, just a few or a small container of them. I was only doing liquids (juice, gatorade and broth) per instructions when I went to clinic and Dr. R. asked if I had tried saltines. I could not wait to get my hands on some. I thought for sure I would be able to eat the whole sleeve of them. I ate 1 cracker and was FULL, but it was so good. Good Luck have a safe journey and ENJOY.
