Judy, As for what to take to the hospital, I took a robe, slippers, book,

hand-held solitaire game. They suggested wearing sweats or something very

comfortable, and to wear it home also. I never needed the robe. They

brought me one as well as slippers that were toasty warm. I tried reading,

but only a couple of pages and I was tired. Didn't do the Solitaire. Tried

to watch t.v. , but too groggy after the surgery, and just slept. I didn't

have complications, and they sent me home 26 hrs. after the surgery. So I

really didn't need anything. But hospitals are different, stay time is

different. Good to take off all jewelry at home before you go, or they will

ask you to and suggest it goes home with husband, etc.

Newbie - Have a date -- Yeah!

Hi-- thought I would introduce myself & come out of hiding from

just reading everyone's posts to participating!!

I am a young 54 years old and live in IL!

I have gone through all of the doctor visits and am about to

embark on surgery in a week Dec. 16th!!! I have mixed emotions

--- nervous, excited --- etc. --- but I also am soooo busy with work

(teach school special ed) , getting ready for the holidays (need

to be ready before next week) --- I haven't really had time to dwell

on the surgery!

Would like to know what things I should take with me to the

hospital!!! Know I cannot take my laptop! I will miss having it and

the opportunity to email & communicate with friends!

Guess I will be busy with other things and probably won't feel like

it anyway!!

Any other suggestions for me as I cross over to the beginning of

the rest of my life!!

Hugs & stuff to all!!! I will wait to wish you all a Happy Holiday

until after my surgery!!!!
