Guest guest
ask him how its working for him a year from now. Biologically, hunger is a pain signal that something is needed. This is part of why it is so terrible to be hungry. It feels like pain. People eat to try to mediate that pain. This is supposed to, within reason, be normal love, ceep In a message dated 1/21/03 3:32:26 PM, Graduate-OSSG writes: << A guy at work was just telling me yesterday that he has trained himself to make the feeling of hunger pleasurable by telling himself that it is pleasurable every time he feels it. I find that interesting because I hate the feel of hunger and I hate it every time I feel it.What do you think of this. Would this be his ability to compartmentalize? Anyway, thanks for your wisdom. Fay*** My thoughts went way the other direction -- there are people who (for whatever psyche reasons) enjoy pain and equate pain with pleasure so a year from now the guy may not be able to keep doing this but he may also have found new ways to intensify the pain of hunger which to that personality type would, in however that works, increase the pleasure that is sought through pain... I won't really *go there* but y'all know what I mean... hugz, ~denise
