Guest guest
Hi-- thought I would introduce myself & come out of hiding from just reading everyone's posts to participating!! I am a young 54 years old and live in IL! I have gone through all of the doctor visits and am about to embark on surgery in a week Dec. 16th!!! I have mixed emotions --- nervous, excited --- etc. --- but I also am soooo busy with work (teach school special ed) , getting ready for the holidays (need to be ready before next week) --- I haven't really had time to dwell on the surgery! Would like to know what things I should take with me to the hospital!!! Know I cannot take my laptop! I will miss having it and the opportunity to email & communicate with friends! Guess I will be busy with other things and probably won't feel like it anyway!! Any other suggestions for me as I cross over to the beginning of the rest of my life!! Hugs & stuff to all!!! I will wait to wish you all a Happy Holiday until after my surgery!!!! Judy (Juju --- by my grandson)
Guest guest
COngratulations of your new beginning. You will do fine. I did not need hardly anything I brought with me to the hospital. I brought 1 book incase I wasnted to read, which I did not and a search a word puzzle book which I did use, make sure to bring a pen for it, lol... Bring your normal bathroom stuff you like, toothpaste, powder, brush, ect...You really do not need anything else. I read in a book that a lady suggested bring an old wooden cooking spoon in case you cannot reach your butt when you go do #2, she said you can wrap the tissue around the spoon and use it to wipe ( of course throw the sppon away at the end of needing it ) I actually brought one but did not need it, I was able to reach everything okay. Good Luck to you and God Bless. I hope you have a very Merry Christmas, I know you are on your way to a great New Year ROBIN, NEW YORK AGE-41 OPEN RNY OCT. 18TH, 2002 DR. Guest guest
Candi-- I am from Wheeling -- a suburb Northwest of Chicago! Sorry I did nit get back to you sooner but I had surgery last Tues -Dec. 16th I just came home yesterday!! Everything went well I am sore but fine -- on liquiids & of course water!! walking as much as possible!! Just woke up this morning with gas --- trying to walk since it helps the gas and gas is uncomfortable. Looking forward to healing and thus getting onwith all the new things I need to do for a healthy life! Are you from around here??
